Adrian and Courtney {8•17•13} | Wichita, KS Wedding Photographer.

Adrian and Courtney’s wedding…

It was such a wonderfully beautiful day with the presence of God everywhere you turned.

If you need a good testimonial to the power of prayer, just ask Courtney’s mom, Ronda.

It was 81 degees, no rain in the forecast, and no bugs on August 17, 2013.

Are you from central Kansas?

If so, you know this was a miracle given it was August and we had had 20 inches of rain in the last 4 weeks.

POWER.OF.PRAYER

Ok, so I must share with you a funny little story.

Before Adrian and Courtney were even engaged, Courtney was joking around with me, and her sister Shelbie, about me shooting her wedding.

It may not seem very funny, but let me tell you a little secret.

I had NEVER shot a wedding before.

There was NO WAY hers would be my first or I would take on such a big responsibility as photographing another photographer’s big day!

I laughed all the way out the door that night.

Courtney knew I was serious, but after her engagement the planned photographer baled at the last minute (wedding photographers are always booked SO far ahead!), and she texted me.

I said my sincerest apologies and  told her I would help however I could.

I told her IT.WOULD.WORKOUT

I never offered to shoot it myself…remember I wasn’t up for that.

Weddings are WORK.

And you don’t get a chance for a do-over if you mess up.

And in the words of my new friend, Jenny, “You’ll feel like a semi-truck hit you the next day!”

Boy, she wasn’t joking.

So, when Courtney asked ME to photograph the wedding,  dragging my feet, praying all the way, I said “Let the learning begin.”

I wasn’t taking this on without some serious prep work.

Hello?!?!

This is Courtney here we are talking about.

She has only photographed a million weddings herself!

And so it was, I became the wedding photographer.

I can honestly say that it was with true joy and anticipation that I witnessed their wedding day through my lens.

I got to see the WHOLE picture.

Every detail of it.

And  I loved it!

I thank God for this new friendship with Mr. and Mrs. Unruh:)

And CAN.NOT wait to see what God has in store for this amazing couple.

It’s going to be awesome!

Congrats Courtney and Adrian!!!

Love you both very much!!

Here’s a tiny snippet of your day:)

P.S. And if your dress came clean after all we put it through…it’s a miracle as well!

At the end of the post is Adrian and Courtney’s wedding highlight video by H&M. Be sure to watch it!
